Safer purging while preventing damage to your equipment from traditional practices
• Safer, quicker and easier than traditional practices
• Prevents damage to flanges from makeshift spacers
• Unique handle identifies blind as a Purge Blind
For line purging applications, past practice has been to use a slip blind and number of spacers sandwiched between the blind and the gapped flange. While this procedure can effectively be used to create a purging area, a number of problems exist which can lead to unsafe practices and/or damage to equipment.
USA Industries' new EZ Purge® Blinds can help eliminate all of those problems. The EZ Purge blind creates a "stand off" area at the flange site, allowing for line purging. The EZ Purge blind seals evenly, eliminating damage to flange gasket surfaces often associated with the dated practices of using wedges, tubing, or other metals to create space between the blind and flange.
EZ Purge Blinds are easily identifiable due to a uniquely shaped and color coded handle. They can be made to any specifications requested. The current standard we use is a 1/2" thick isolation blind with a 1/4" deep channel milled at either 3/4", 1", or 1 1/2" widths depending on the blind size. The ratio of gasket area versus purge area is approximately 50% to allow for proper sealing force distribution.
Blinds come standard in sizes from 1/2" to 96" and flange classes from 150# to 2500#. Unless otherwise specified, our Purge blinds are painted flat black and are stamped with their size & rating for ease of use. Custom configurations available to suit your specific purge flow requirements. In-stock orders are shipped the same day.

We can manufacture hydrotest EZ Purge blinds that will withstand hydrotesting, but our standard blinds will not hold pressure, as they're designed for isolation only. Please let us know at the time you're ordering, and we can increase the thickness of the non-purged side to withstand hydrotesting.
Yes. It is a requirement to use a gasket on the non-purged side to ensure a seal against any hydrocarbons or chemicals. It is not necessary to use a gasket on the purge side due to our proprietary design. The gasket will not affect the amount of purge flow.
Yes. We would advise that the purge side remain a mill finish, however we can put any gasket finish you would like. Note: An EZ Purge blind made with an RTJ (RJ) gasket finish, male or female, would require additional thickness.
